The student dormitories were built in 1980 and belong to the Western Greece University of Applied Sciences (former TEI of Western Greece). Today, it houses 150 students who are accommodated free of charge in double bedroom apartments.
Rented accommodation is also available in the town.
'Hotel Koukos' a newly refurbished dormitory building of the Western Greece University of Applied Sciences with 200 beds capacity. It is open for overseas students and academics for short accommodation
Meal services office
Students once registered in a department, may apply for a Meal Card which provides them highly subsidized breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant at the Western Greece University of Applied Sciences premises every day throughout the week. The restaurant caters for 2500 people and can extend its capacity to about 4000 daily providing high quality food. Students and visitors who are not entitled to a Meal Card may also take their meals at the restaurant at low prices. (About 5€ per full course meal). There are also 2 coffee-snack bars.
Health insurance – health care
The Health Care Services is housed at the ground floor of the Faculty of Health and Welfare. The Health Care Services informs students over Health and Nursery issues and, also, runs the medical insurance book. The Erasmus students do have the same privileges, as the home students.
The sector of Physical Education comprises the following sports:
- Team sports: Basketball, volleyball, soccer, water polo, and handball
- Individual sports : Track, tennis, table tennis, chess, winter sports, martial arts, swimming River activities such as canoe kayak, rafting.
- Traditional Greek dances.
