ACCOUNTANCY deals with the process of financial information about a business which is recorded, classified, summarized, interpreted and communicated whereas FINANCE deals with the study of investments under conditions of different degrees of uncertainty and risk. The BA Accounting & Finance degree program at Western Greece University of Applied Sciences (TEI of Western Greece) provides a solid basis in theoretical and empirical areas of Accounting & Finance, focusing on financial accounting, management accounting, finance, strategy, audit and taxation.

The Department’s four-year academic program designed to equip the students for a successful career in the accountancy profession or financial sector, or for a financial role in industry or government. The study of accountancy and finance provides a sound understanding of the workings of the business world and is therefore a firm foundation on which to base careers in business management and the financial services sector. The analytical and communication skills that are essential to accounting and finance are also recognized as important attributes for careers in many other areas, so there are job opportunities in many fields for successful graduates.

Particularly, upon completion of his studies, the graduate of the Accounting & Finance Department has all the necessary scientific and technological efforts along with the theoretical and applied knowledge to be qualified professional in the private or the public sector as Tax Accountant, Tax advisor, Project Accountant, Group Accountant, Management Accountant,

Systems Accountant, Internal Auditor, External Auditor, Financial Accountant, Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Finance Analyst, Banking Employee, Retail or Investment banker, Bank Branch member, Actuary, Economic analyst, Insurance broker, Underwriter and Brokerage clerk.

Apart from the Department’s staff, who are professionally qualified in the field of Economics, Accountancy, and Law with a range of experience in these sectors, studies at Accounting & Finance Department are benefited by the significant use of qualified external tutors. These professionals will lead tutorials, offering the students the opportunity to analyze issues of particular interest and learn from their updated experience in professional accountancy, finance and informatics.

As part of ERASMUS+ Program the Accounting and Finance Department has signed bilateral agreements with various universities for the period 2014-2020. This program offers the students the opportunity to spent a semester or a year abroad which will enhance their experience and boost their career opportunities. Students of our Department can choose to spend time at a range of partner institutions. Likewise, incoming students to our campus from across the globe are welcoming.
